Internship Opportunities Available With Cliff Young Ltd.



A Premier High End Contemporary Furniture Design Company at the New York Design Center!





This is a great opportunity for design-savvy, computer-literate and organized students or anyone who is looking to gain insight into the furniture/interior design industry as well as real-world marketing and graphic design experience. You will get to work with the designers and assist them with clients (as opportunities present themselves). You will learn about the inner workings of a furniture showroom with hands-on experience. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing high-end clients superior quality custom furniture. We are happy to help anyone pursue their career with an opportunity to work right in our showroom alongside the seasoned professionals who are always willing to answer questions and offer advice. The majority of interns who have successfully completed the program here have gone on to find jobs in the industry.



We are looking for candidates with a strong creative, design and administrative background who can begin
IMMEDIATELY
and can work a minimum of 2-3 days a week. Full time availability is not required, but is a HUGE PLUS!

You will have the opportunity to work within the following departments:


- Marketing/PR

- Sales Assistant

- Graphic Design

- Interior/Furniture Design




Depending on your background, responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):


- receptionist duties (greeting clients, answering phones, tracking showroom traffic, taking messages, etc.)

- prepare tearsheets for new products and maintain tearsheet library

- edit images for tearsheets, catalogs & website

- create floorplans in AutoCAD

- create sketches and color renderings for designers

- assist designers in selecting fabrics, leathers, finishes, room layouts, etc.

- design catalogs, fliers, client presentations, product labels, etc.

- keep vendor catalogs and price lists up to date

- update & maintain library and sample room

- maintain customer database

- contribute to marketing campaigns

- write creative content for and update Facebook page

- initiate presence on other social networking sites

- manage accounts on industry websites

- participate in design, sales and marketing meetings

- provide administrative support to staff as needed




The ideal candidate MUST:


- be comfortable interacting with customers in person and on the phone

- be in good academic standing if you are a student

- be EXTREMELY organized and detail-oriented

- be reliable and prompt

- be computer savvy and highly proficient with Microsoft Office as well as Adobe Photoshop

- have highly developed internet research skills

- be able to multitask and work well under pressure

- have a bright, positive attitude and a proactive, professional yet friendly demeanor

- be available at least 2-3 full days a week (hours are 9am-5pm)

- commit to a minimum of 3 months

- This is an UNPAID internship but a daily stipend and school credit is offered (if applicable)

- Experience with HTML or Web Design is not required, but is a HUGE PLUS!

- Knowledge of AutoCAD is not required, but is a HUGE PLUS!
