Company Background:
Axel Plastics Research Laboratories Inc is a supplier of polymer additives formulations to the plastics and rubber industry. We are growing 60 year old firm seeking a qualified individual with a strong background in the chemical industry with QC, regulatory and compliance experience. We are located in Woodside NY within easy commuting distance of the Great New York Metro Area and close to the LIRR and NYC Subway.
Responsibilities:
Quality Control: Perform testing of incoming Raw Materials and out-going Finished Products.
Compliance Document Management: Manage our database of MSDS and Product Labels
Customer& Product Regulatory Support: Assist our R&D Director on Regulatory Issues for Products and Customer Requests
REACH: Assist our R&D Director in our REACH Program and manage the documentation of the program.
ISO: Manage our existing ISO 9000 System and prepare for the company’s yearly external audit.
Administer the AXEL Quality System Interface with Management, co-workers and the outside registrar.
Conduct Internal Audits :
Develop Audit Schedule
Train auditors
Conduct audits, per audit schedule
Orchestrate verification activities
Report results of audits
Conduct Management Review
Facilitate the QOS meetings, including scheduling and distributing minutes
Ensure compliance to the ISO requirements
Analyze Corrective Action/Preventive Action/Continual Improvement
Facilitate the customer complaint process
Issue corrective and preventive actions
Maintain file of Targets and Objectives
Training : Conduct ISO quality training , Maintain training files
ISO Documentation
Write/edit procedures, work instructions and forms
Maintain Company documentation, electronic and hardcopy
Issue document change notices
Education: A BS degree in Chemistry/Chemical engineering is required.
