Software Engineer
Manhattan, NY
A leading product based Health Care company is looking for a Software Engineer who is responsible for participating in the development, implementation and maintenance of all layers of our Web based/Windows based core products. This position will require working independently with a Lead Developer or on a team with other developers. Major project activities include: developing and maintaining the web back-end system, occasional interfacing with product group during requirements clarification or QA process will be required.
Essential Functions:
• Assist Web engineering and system administration team in the installation and implementation of web servers and in systems planning and monitoring.
• Support and troubleshoot Web systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving production problems, and providing timely follow-up on problem reports.
• Function as a resource to Project Leader in support of providing estimates to Project Plans
• Collaborate with Project Leader, Lead Developer, Database Developers, and QA to ensure projects are deployed on time and within budget
• Participates in production build preparation.
• Provides suggestions for application and process improvement
• Escalates issues to the Lead Developer and/or Project Leader as required
• Responsible for responding in a timely manner to all production issues that are escalated and require resolution
• Submit weekly status reports defining accomplishments, issues, recommendations, and goals for the following week
Required Skills:
• 1-2 years experience in C#, ASP.Net,.Net Framework, ASP, VB, HTML, DHTML, XML, SQL, VBScript and Java Script development.
• Experience working with high volume, high usage, high availability transaction systems and Very Large Database systems
• Microsoft Visual Studio/SourceSafe
• IIS
• MS SQL Server, DTS packages
• ADO.Net/ADO/Custom Server Controls/Web Services/
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
