My client a global Investment bank is looking for a Financial Controller to join their Offshore team. Controllers are responsible for the accuracy of financial records and timely provision of accurate financial information to internal and external clients.
The offshore team consists of 11 people in London and many others in locations such as Nassau, Moscow, Ukraine, Cairo and Central and Western Europe. This role would be looking after the relationship for Guernsey entities which are managed by both London-based controllers and by Private Banking staff in Guernsey.
The duties of the role include :
Perform control and reporting of Guernsey Entities US GAAP.
Keep up to date on all new GARM updates for Swiss and US GAAP.
Maintenance of the trial balance (including monthly posting of expense and revenue journals) into General Ledger.
Preparations of a monthly financial summaries for Guernsey entities.
GL account ownership sign off and reconciliations.
Escalation and resolution of any control weaknesses and deficiencies.
Resolution of issues arising from the month end processes.
Continuous liaison with Private Banking staff in Guernsey.
Involvement in projects running within the bank and the department.
They are really interested in finding a newly qualified accountant (CIMA*ACCA preferred). The ideal candidate will have US*Swiss GAAP experience with previous banking experience. There will be an opportunity to visit the team in Guernsey although following that travel will be limited.
